Kim’s Disney Passion: A Lifelong Love Affair (That I Married Into)
Kim doesn’t just like Disney—she breathes it. From rattling off the history of Disneyland like she was there on opening day to owning more mouse ears than shoes, her Disney knowledge could probably land her a job as an Imagineer. Over the years, I’ve learned that loving Kim means embracing her love of Disney. It’s a small world, after all, and mine is now filled with churros, pretzels, ride strategies, and late-night debates about planning our next magical adventure.
Our Disney Family: Raising a New Generation of Mouseketeers
Thanks to Kim, our kids have been fortunate to grow up with Disney as the backdrop to their childhood. From their first rides on Dumbo to awkwardly posing for castle pictures during their teenage “too cool for this” phase, Disney has been the constant thread in our family’s story. Watching their faces light up during fireworks or seeing them turn into mini-tour guides—just like their mom—has been one of my greatest joys. While we may not visit the parks as often these days, we’ve discovered a new love: the Disney Cruise Line!
My Husbandly Adventures: From Skeptic to (Semi) Expert
Before Kim, I didn’t know what a FastPass was or why anyone would willingly wait an hour for a parade. Now? I’m the guy hauling popcorn buckets through the park, debating ride strategies like it’s the Super Bowl, and even occasionally agreeing to those matching family T-shirts (just a few times!).
Of course, there have been a few stumbles—like the time I underestimated the power of Disney snacks, mistimed a quick nap at the hotel, or spent half a day recovering from an overzealous Mickey Bar binge. But there have also been countless magical moments: laughing together on the Jungle Cruise, watching the kids meet their favorite characters, and finally mastering the art of avoiding the really long lines.
Through it all, one thing has remained constant: Kim is my “forever.” Whether we’re strolling down Main Street or setting sail on a Disney cruise, this journey is one we’ll be on together until we no longer exist. Because if there’s one thing I’ve learned, it’s that every adventure is better when you’re sharing it with the person you love most.
